Oct 30, 2020 · Often steam boiler noises showing up as banging pipes or radiators are traced to a condensate return problem. Please take a look at the suggestions on this page. If the boiler has at least a few years of previously soundless operation and the banging / clanking at the boiler is recent I suspect that the horizontal portion of the condensate return or steam supply line is debris-clogged.
